About

Despoina Pervizou has been a postdoctoral researcher at the Marseille-Luminy Immunology Center (CIML) in the laboratory of Dr. R. Roncagalli since January 2025. Her research focuses on T cell signaling and the biology of regulatory T cells in autoimmune diseases.

She holds an Integrated Master's degree in Biological Applications and Technology from the University of Ioannina, Greece (2019), where she studied the role of the transcription factor ERF in T helper cell differentiation. In 2020, she completed an Erasmus+ internship at CIML, where she worked on myeloid-targeted therapies for melanoma, an experience that sparked her interest in cancer immunology.

She received her PhD in 2024 from Aix-Marseille University, completing her studies at CIML in the laboratory of Dr. Bernard Malissen, under the supervision of Dr. Sandrine Henri. Her work focused on immune cell heterogeneity in prostate cancer, generating a high-resolution immune atlas using genetically modified mouse models, multiparametric flow cytometry, single-cell RNA sequencing, and confocal microscopy. Her work has highlighted novel immunosuppressive populations and potential therapeutic targets.
