About

Nerve fibers are increasingly emerging as key players in the tumor microenvironment, capable of modulating both tumor growth and the effectiveness of the anti-tumor immune response. Among them, the so-called sensory fibers nociceptives, which innervate peripheral tissues and transmit pain signals when sensitized by "toxic" stimuli, are of particular interest. Long considered solely as pain mediators, these fibers are now revealed to have powerful immunomodulatory potential: they participate in the regulation of antimicrobial and inflammatory responses. In this project, we seek to decipher their role in tumor growth and the modulation of the anti-tumor immune response, based on different mouse models of cancer.
