On the occasion of the International Day of Immunology 2026, focused on the theme « Regulatory T Cells: Guardians of Immune Balance, » the CIML highlights the work of Magali Irla, whose research is advancing our understanding of immune tolerance.

Magali Irla, Team Leader at CIML, leads the « Immune tolerance and T-cell differentiation » team. Her work has identified the lymphotoxin axis as a key checkpoint of Treg development in the thymus, and her current research aims to identify inhibitory molecules selectively expressed on Foxp3⁺ Tregs in order to enhance their suppressive function and improve their therapeutic applicability in autoimmune diseases and transplant rejection.
