Hussein Hamade est chercheur en immunologie et gastroentérologie, spécialisé dans les maladies inflammatoires chroniques de l’intestin (MICI) et la fibrose intestinale. Après un doctorat à l’Université de Strasbourg sur les liens entre inflammation et cancer colorectal, il a poursuivi sa carrière scientifique au Cedars-Sinai Medical Center de Los Angeles, où il a étudié le rôle des cellules immunitaires, du microbiote et de l’épithélium intestinal dans l’homéostasie et les pathologies métaboliques. Ses travaux contribuent à une meilleure compréhension de l’étiologie des MICI et de leurs complications. Il mène actuellement ses recherches au Centre d’Immunologie de Marseille-Luminy (CIML), où il analyse les interactions entre fibroblastes, cellules immunitaires et inflammation chronique afin d’élucider les mécanismes de la fibrose intestinale et d’ouvrir la voie à de nouvelles approches thérapeutiques.
