Dr Broggi. a obtenu son doctorat en médecine translationnelle en 2012 dans le laboratoire de Francesca Granucci à l’Université de Milan-Bicocca, où il a étudié la tolérance périphérique des lymphocytes T et le rôle du facteur de transcription NFAT dans les phagocytes.

En 2015, il a rejoint le laboratoire d’Ivan Zanoni au Boston Children’s Hospital en tant que chercheur postdoctoral. Il y a mis en évidence une nouvelle fonction immunomodulatrice de l’IFN-λ, qui inhibe l’activation des neutrophiles et protège les barrières muqueuses lors de l’inflammation intestinale.

À partir de 2018, en tant qu’Instructor, il a également étudié le rôle des interférons dans le système respiratoire et décrit comment l’IFN-λ peut altérer la réparation tissulaire après une pneumonie virale aiguë.

En 2021, Achille a rejoint le CIML, où il poursuit ses recherches sur les réponses aux interférons en tant que régulateurs clés de la biologie des muqueuses, et plus particulièrement sur la régulation de la barrière intestinale.
