Project : CARCINOMAC
Head and neck cancers are the sixth most common type of cancer. Among these, the Oral Squamous Cell Carcinoma (OSCC), which primarily develops on the tongue, represents 90% of oral cancers. Macrophages are essential players in tumor development in which they play various roles. This project aims to understand the role of lingual macrophages at different stages of OSCC progression. For this, we will 1) decipher the transcriptional diversity of macrophages during tumor development, 2) highlight the composition of the immune response during SCCOC development and the impact of macrophage loss on this response, and 3) identify how macrophages affect tumor growth by analyzing transcriptional changes in stromal cells in the presence or absence of macrophages.
